Do you get visitors but none of them are converting into clients?

Your website is the front door to your online business. When a customer visitors your website, they make a split-second decision whether they are going to buy from you or not.

It is very important that you have all the right things in place in order to sway their decision towards the buy side.

Responsive Web Design

Having a website that works on all devices is the most critical thing you need in order to get more clients. Like I mentioned before, 4 out of 5 consumers are shopping on their mobile phone.

94% of people cited web design as the reason they mistrusted or rejected a website.

It is also very important to have a mobile-friendly website because Google ranks mobile-friendly websites higher than non mobile-friendly sites.

To check if your current website is mobile friendly, use Google’s Mobile-Friendly Test tool to see if your website adheres to the latest mobile standards.

Without having a mobile-friendly website, you cannot rank on the first page of Google, which means you are losing out on potential clients who are looking for your business.

You are also losing a lot of visitors because they don’t trust a website that is not mobile-friendly. Many visitors believe that if your website does not work, that means your business doesn’t really care about it.

This can be detrimental to your business and online presence.

Good CTA

CTA stands for Call-to-Action and should be an important part of your website. The CTA is the instruction to the user to take an action on your website.

This could be requesting a quote, signing up or even filling out and submitting a contact form.

Figuring out what your call-to-action should be matters on what your business does and its end goal.

If you run a contractor business then your end goal should be to get people that are interested in remodeling or renovating their home to give you their contact information.

So a good CTA for a contractor website would be a contact form… or even better, a Free Remodel Quote form.

The CTA is what instructs the user to click and fill out the form to get more information about your services.

Having a good CTA on your website will increase the amount of potential clients requesting more information or buying products on your website.

Below is a great example of a high converting CTA:

Fresh Books uses their Free 30 Day trial as a goal and a bright green button CTA to filter users to their trial. I also think this CTA works really well because of the small components around it that show authority and trust.

They have a small graphic that states, “97% of small business owners recommend FreshBooks”, which provides authority for the company because so many people recommended it.

It also features small text under the button that says, “No credit card required. Cancel Anytime” which creates less friction for the user because they don’t have to enter in a credit card and it can be cancelled at any time which provides trust.

Though most small business websites will not even need a CTA to a free trial. Usually, you can provide a CTA that allows the user to contact you, get a quote, book a consultation etc.

Contact information

I am always surprised by the clients we get that do not have any contact information on their old (or new) website.

Having your phone number, email, address on your website is the connection between the online world and your business.

If customers can’t contact you, how are you suppose to get their business?

44% of website visitors will leave a company’s website if there’s no contact information or phone number.

Including your detailed contact information on your website can get more clients calling and emailing your business.

Make sure that your contact info is in multiple places so that its easy to find. It should also be up-to-date and clear on how they should contact you.

If you have a large phone number at the top of your website that says, “call now for a free consultation”, but then you have a about is page which 10 different employees and their contact info, its going to confuse the user and they will probably just leave.

You should have a contact number in the header, footer and on the contact page of your website so their is no confusion on what your number is and how to contact your business.

In conjunction with have your contact info on your website, you should also have a contact form so customers can easily contact you online.

Contact Form

If you are trying to get more clients online, then having a contact form on your website is vital. Many small business owners think having their phone number on their website is good enough…

But its not!

People don’t want to take the time to call a business anymore… Its 2016.

Users are more likely to fill out a contact form for YOU to contact THEM. I mean, you are the one trying to get their business, right?!

This is why its so important to have a contact form on your website. Some customers may only want to email with you, some may want to meet in person, and some on the phone.

Having a contact form on your website will allow any customer to get in touch with you (converting them from users to leads).

SEO

Search Engine Optimization is the methodology of getting more website visitors through search engines. SEO is one of the best investments you can make into your website and online presence.

When your website ranks in Google for your Businesses keywords, you will see more potential clients coming to your website, looking for your exact services.

But SEO isn’t easy….

It takes a skilled online marketing agency to rank your website on the first page of Google but there are small things you can do yourself in order to see small increases in search engine traffic.

Having a fast website and creating good quality content in your niche can boost your rankings to the next level.

Fast Website

A website that loads fast will rank higher in Google and bring in more clients to your website.

So how do you know if your website is fast or not?

Try this website speed test by Pingdom that shows how long it takes to load your website and what resources are causing it to load slower.

Any speed under 3 seconds may hurt both your Google rankings as the ability to get more clients online.

That is because one of Googles ranking factors is website speed. Google wants to give their searchers the best possible results.. meaning that they are informative, fast and well coded.

If your website is none of those, then you will probably get dropped into the abyss of the Google results pages.

Blog (Content)

I had to save the best for last.

If you know me or my company Tyton Media, then you know that we believe content is king.

Having informative, engaging, shareable content on your website creates return visitors, increases rankings and gets you more clients…

But how?

We are in an informational age… and when people want information, they turn to Google to get the answers. For example:

  • What is the best Web Design Company in Kansas
  • Plumber reviews in Florida
  • How do you build a website
  • Where to find a good stylist

All these questions are asked by potential customers looking for information on businesses in Google.

Launching a good content marketing campaign will make your website show up when potential clients search for this information.

Google loves good content… and ranks websites with good content accordingly.

Including shareable content on your website also creates social media shares and backlinks which will make you rank even higher!

Content can be almost anything. Here are some good examples of content you can put on your website to increase clients:

  • Text
  • Images
  • Videos
  • Diagrams
  • Graphs
  • Podcasts
  • Case studies
  • Infographics

Try and make one piece of quality content a week on your website and you will see more traffic and more clients!
